Ms Yasmine Kumordzi
PhD student at Durham University
I obtained my BSc in Biomedical Science at Lancaster University where I also undertook my MSc (by research) where I investigated the migration of Leishmania parasites within sandflies using microfluidics with Dr Rod Dillan and Dr Alex Benedetto. This introduced me to the wonderful world of parasites and insects, as well as sparking my interest in science engagement and bioarts.
I moved to Durham University where I am currently undertaking a PhD under the supervision of Dr Paul Denny and Dr Ehmke Pohl. My project primarily focuses on the drug target validation of sphingosine kinase for Leishmaniasis.
